Rolex 16660 Sea-Dweller Triple Six 1988 Box & Papers Full Set Watch

A true collector's piece! We are pleased to offer this highly sought after Rolex 16660 Sea-Dweller Triple Six 1988 Full Set Watch. This particular watch has the original Rolex box, outer box, both swing tags, inner Rolex green box, booklets, official Rolex service card from 2006 and the official Rolex stamped warranty paperwork dated in July 1988.

This 16660 has an earlier 8.1 million serial number and dates to manufacture production in 1984. There was an official Rolex service carried out in 2006 but no original factory parts were changed, this watch is completely original.

The first thing that strikes you about this 1988 Sea-Dweller ref. 16660 is the stunning "stardust" patina of the dial. The original tritium hands and markers are now a warm ivory colour which match the lume dot at 12 on the bezel. It's worth noting that this 2nd generation Triple 6 (serial 81xxxx) is one of the desirable few where the glossy black dial is beginning to turn matte. The "Triple Six" is an important reference in the history of the Sea-Dweller, it was the first to feature a sapphire glass, the first Sea-Dweller to have a quick date change, and also the first waterproof to 4000ft. Finding a beautiful example in such original condition is becoming an increasingly rare occurrence and we are incredibly pleased to have just taken it into stock. There are signs of wear but for the age it is in great, original condition.
