THE 4C's...CARAT
Diamond quality is an important factor to consider while purchasing any form of diamond jewellery. The quality of diamonds can be graded on four factors, also referred to as the 4C’s. The 4C’s consist of the diamonds cut, clarity, colour, and carat weight.
Whilst trying to find the perfect piece of diamond jewellery It is very important to know the characteristics of these precious stones to ensure you find the perfect diamond. Here we take a look into Diamond Carat.
Each diamond or gem is individually weighed to determine that stones carat weight. The heavier the Diamond the more valuable it is. On the metric scale, 1 carat is equivalent to 200 milligrams, or 0.2 grams. The carat of the ring combines all matching stones in that ring, so a diamond trilogy ring carat will be the sum of all three diamonds. While carat weight can impact the value of a diamond, it’s important to understand that two diamonds of the same weight may have drastically different values. This is because a diamond’s value takes into account all of the 4Cs, not just carat weight.
